A Viking in the Sun presents The King's Call - Cthulhu in Medieval Scotland

Following on from their hit show in Istanbul’s ancient Cistern of Theodosius, join the A Viking in the Sun project as they bring a cast of professional gamers to the Great Hall! There, using the Call of Cthulhu roleplaying game they’ll attempt to solve live, in front of the audience, a medieval mystery set in Stirling Castle - drawn from real archaeological objects, medieval sources, academic historical scholarship, and the cosmic horror fiction of H. P. Lovecraft!

If you're visiting the Stirling Castle during the day join us for 'Games in the Chapel'

An afternoon of tabletop role-playing gaming and miniatures wargaming in the Chapel Royal of Stirling Castle. The event is hosted by Chaosium and the History and Games Lab of the University of Edinburgh. In the role playing games you will play out the role of a character in mystery scenarios by using Chaosium's games such as Call of Cthulhu, Pendragon, and Age of Vikings. In miniatures wargames you will play historical battles and skirmishes by using model soldiers and terrain. The event is open to veteran gamers and novices alike, and expert games masters will facilitate the games.

Daytime event takes place at: 1pm-5pm on Sat 17 October (please note a ticket for Stirling Castle will need to be purchased for the daytime event separately to the evening event)
